Since going to Australia IMPEDIMENT has run second in the Geelong Cup, St. Kilda Cup, and Moonee Valley Eight Hours’ Handicap. During the 1917-18 season while racing in New Zealand as a three-year-old she was fourth on the list of winning horses, with £2980 in stakes to her credit. Among the events she won were the N.Z. Oaks Stakes (1½ miles), Twelfth Palmerston North Stakes (six furlongs), Great Northern Oaks ( 1½ miles), and the St. George’s Handicap ( 1½ miles), the latter two races being run at the 1918 Auckland R.C.’s Easter meeting at Ellerslie.
