ANOTHER STUD DISPERSAL SALE.
The lamentable death of the late Mr. R. D. M. Morrison, of Blairlogie, Masterton. a victim of the influenza epidemic, has brought into the open market a valuable stud of thoroughbreds, which are to be disposed of by auction, without reserve, on Friday, March 21st, at the Club Hotel stables,
Masterton, by Messrs. Levin and Co., acting in conjunction with Messrs. A. J. Cooper and Co. There are twentyone thoroughbred mares, including Straga (dam of Hymestra and Torfreda), Simper (dam of Affectation), and other dams of winners; also five yearlings, comprising the Kilbroney— Linnet filly, King Mark—Simois colt, King Mark —Balama filly, Hymettus— Idealia colt, and King Mark filly from an unnamed daughter of Temeraire. The imported stud horse Hymettus and also Acrostic, by Multiform from Problem, who has been used as a station sire, will also be sold. The mares are nearly all stinted to Hymettus. It was the late Mr. Morrison’s intention to breed for sale, but bis untimely death has brought about the dispersal sale of the choice collection. Catalogues can be had upon application to the auctioneers.
