OPERA HOUSE.
A diverting holiday programme holds the boards at the Opera House this week, and should meet with the approval of the most exacting vaudeville lover. — Sa Hera, the uncanny, keeps interest at fever point, whether she is solving mathematical problems or demonstrating her telepathic powers on the audience. Mr. Fred. Bluett is another big magnet, and those who haven’t already collapsed under his irresistible comedy offering should hurry up and learn the possibilities of a ditty and how a mere commonplace can sound a joke. __ Mr. Lew James and Miss Reina Selma are other brightening factors, and in the art of dispensing nonsense brightly and smartly they can’t be beaten. By way of variety, Dozey and Doura show what can be done with nerve and balance. The Walter George Company, who are farewelling this week, have put on an old favourite in “The Grand Hotel.” Its lilting numbers go with a fine swing, the ballets are prettily arranged, and Mr. George Storey as the bell-boy sets the speed for laughter. Messrs. Walter George, Holly Leslie, Barry Hitchings, Frank Haining and George Storey have co-operated with a will during the long season, and their attractive colleagues, Misses Hylda Shannon, Georgie Martin, Dulcie Milner, May Gearey and Polly McLaren, have entered with zest into the spirit of things. Mr. Walter George has brought his experienced judgment to bear in producing revues, and the jolly musical coterie, who have helped to keep the entertainment up to a high standard, will be much missed by a large circle of patrons. An announcement of particular interest to women is that Sa Hera will hold a special hearing for them on Friday afternoon, when she will answer questions and give advice.
