BARGAINS IN THE GROCERY LINE.
The Question of economy has been a very trying one for housewives dur-
ing the past four years, and judging from the present outlook the high cost of living in grocery lines will be prevalent for some time to come. It therefore behoves everyone to secure the highest value at a minimum of expense. That this is possible will be seen on reference to an announcement made by Mr. J. A. White, of the well-known grocery firm of that name, appearing on page 37 of this issue. This firm has made rapid strides since its inception. Formerly in business in Karangahap e Road and Newmarket, the proprietor has been compelled by the increased volume of business to secure larger and more up-to-date premises in order to cope with the demand. Mr. White’s new premises are just below the Post Office, Symonds Street, Auckland, at the end of the penny section. A visit to this establishment will assuredly prove of advantage to our readers. The stock is attractively displayed, and includes every conceivable article in foodstuffs, while a marked feature of the shop is the extreme cleanliness which immediately attracts the notice of shoppers. This 'firm have decided to enlarge their country trade, arid customers living in the country can have their orders as carefully attend- ' ed to as if they were purchasing their goods personally at the store. Orders should be accompanied by remittances, and goods will be delivered free on rail or steamer the same day. Special quotations will be given for large quantities, and prices for any lines not enumerated will be supplied on application. Mr. White, who is assisted by a competent staff of assistants, personally supervises all orders, and if our readers avail themselves of the prices quoted for groceries they will find it a direct saving compared with prices listed elsewhere.
