For all horses that have not won a race at time of starting. Horses will be handicapped to trot 4.7 or better. Nomination lsov, acceptance lsov. One mile and ahalf. 2. STEWARDS’ HANDICAP (Harness) of 70sovs; second horse to receive lOsovs, and the third horse ssovs out of stakes. Horses will be handicapped to trot 2.35 to the mile or better. Nomination lsov, acceptance lsov. One mile and a-half. 3. MANAWATU TROTTING CLUB HANDICAP (Harness) of 175sovs; second horse to receive 25sovs, and third horse losovs out of stakes. Horses will be handicapped to trot 5.0 or better. Nomination acceptance 3sovs. Two miles. 4. AWAPUNI HANDICAP (Saddle) of 60sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs, and the third horse ssovs out of stakes. For unhoppled trqtters only. Horses will be handicapped to trot 4.10 or better. LADIES' BRACELET HANDICAP (Harness) of 50sovs; first horse to receive 30sovs and Bracelet value lOsovs, second horse 2sovs and Bracelet value ssovs, third horse 3sovs. Horses to be nominated by ladies, and will be handicapped to trot 4.7% or better. Nomination lsov, acceptance lsov. One mile and a-half. 6. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP (Harness) of lOOsovs; second horse to receive 20sovs, and the third horse lOsovs out of stakes. Horses will be handicapped to trot 2.27 to the mile or better. Nomination lsov, acceptance 2sovs. One mile and aquarter. 7. PALMERSTON NORTH HANDICAP (Harness) of 85sovs; second horse to receive 15sovs, and the third horse lOsovs out of stakes. For unhoppled trotters only. Horses will be handicapped to trot 5.20 or better. Nomination lsov, acceptance 2sovs. Two miles. 8. FAREWELL HANDICAP (Saddle) of 70sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs, and the third horse ssovs out of stakes. Horses will be handicapped to trot 2.30 or better. Nomination 205., acceptance 30s. One mile. NOMINATIONS for all events, accompanied by fees, close with the Secretary on SATURDAY, MARCH 30, 1918, at 10 p.m. HANDICAPS will be declared on APRIL 5, 1918. ACCEPTANCES for all events close with the Secretary on SATURDAY, APRIL 13, at 10 p.m. Fees must accompany Nomination and Acceptance. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races to be run under the Rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association. The winner of any race after the declaration of weights may be re-handi-capped. ao entry will be received for any race except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising from the carrying out of this programme shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. Their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, subject to an appeal to the Association, except on questions of fact. With all nominations the name, colour, sex, age and pedigree and the last three performances, and the horse’s best time, and the names and addresses of the owner and trainer must be given. The colours of rider or driver must be sent in at time of nomination, failing which a fine of £1 will be enforced. (Rule 126.) Telegraphed nominations must be confirmed in writing with all particulars as above by the following mail. No horse will be allowed to start unless all fees are paid. Riders and drivers must appear in propei- costumes or they will be fined. This Rule will be strictly enforced. All protests must be made in writing and in the hands of the secretary within ten minutes of the decision of the race and accompanied by a deposit of ssovs, to be forfeited if the protest is dismissed. By the entry or endeavouring to enter a horse, every person having, or subsequently acquiring, any interest in such horse, shall be deemed to accept all the conditions and restrictions imposed or implied by these Rules, and to be barred from questioning the action or conduct of the club, or other body holding a sports meeting, or or any official of the club, or such other body, in respect of such horse, ur of any person connected therewith, other- . wise than is provided for in Part XXX.
