PATRIOTIC RACING CLUBS.
Mr. George Woodford, chairman of the Victoria Amateur Turf Club, stated in Melbourne the other day that his committee had voted £5OOO to the War Council’s appeal for wounded soldiers. The Victoria Racing Club has made a similar contribution. These clubs have, during the war, devoted all the profits of their meetings to patriotic funds. The V.R.C.’s distributions among various funds amount to £44,000, and those of the V.A.T.C. exceed £36,000.
