FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

EASTER MEETING. Owners and trainers should not overlook the fact that nominations for the Feilding Jockey Club’s Easter meeting, to be held on April 1 and 2, close with the secretary, Mr. Edmd.

Goodbehere, Box 45, Feilding, on Saturday next, March 9, at 8.30 p.m. The principal event is the Feilding Cup of 500sovs, one mile and a-half, while the big race on the second day is the Easter Handicap of 350sovs, one mile and a-quarter. The chief sprint races are the Mangaone Stakes Handicap of 300sovs, six furlongs, and the Denbigh Stakes Handicap of 250sovs (second day), to be run over a similar distance. A hurdle race is provided for each day, while the hack and welter races, none of which are worth less than 150sovs, are to be run over varying distances, and cater extensively for this type of the thoroughbred. The splendid inducements offered should result in a most liberal response from owners on Saturday next. Mr. J. E. Henrys will declare the weights for the first day on or about Friday, March 22.

Formedon, brother to Boniform, has been represented of late by some winners at small meetings in Australia. Seal Rock is another New Zealander that has been successful in the same way.
