GISBORNE RACING CLUB.

SUMMER MEETING

The nominations received on Friday evening in connection with the Gisborne Racing Club’s summer meeting, to be held on the club’s course at Te Hapara on Thursday, February 7, are of a highly satisfactory nature, and the appearance of Mr. H. Coyle’s handicaps, which are due on Saturday next, January 26, are being eagerly awaited. No less than 19 horses have been nominated for the Gisborne Cup, including Ladogeur, Impediment, Trials, Cynic and Cleft. Acceptances are due on February 1 for all events, and it is anticipated that there will be a splendid response from owners and trainers. The energetic officials of the club are doing all in their power to make the meeting thoroughly enjoyable to their patrons, and there can be little doubt that this popular one-day fixture will prove a worthy attracion in lieu of the two days that constituted last year’s summer gathering.
