Allan Wilkie had never played the role of a sold 1 er until his venture in modern drama under the Fuller banner. Then he became a private in “The Story of the Rosary.” In four or five months he had risen to the rank of captain in “Seven Days’ Leave,” which is by the same author. Both plays have a strong miltary flavour, but although they deal with war they do not touch on its grim reality. It is estimated that their author has netted something in the vicinity of £lOO,OOO in royalties on the two dramas, both of which are running briskly.
