A FRENCH SIGNALMAN HOUSED IN A STEEPLE IN MACEDONIA. Although the present operations are confined almost wholly to trench warfare the French soldiers often find an opportunity to display their ingenuity and agility in various ways. In the picture shown a soldier has mounted the steeple from which he is able to survey the enemy’s movements, and by means of signals transmit much Important information to the French troops.
