This unique illustration depicts two 3½-ton model Napier business vehicles, photographed alongside one of the latest engines of the London North Western Railway Company. The engine shown is named after Sir Robert Turnbull, whose name will always shine in the annals of railway history. The engine itself was built at the company’s Crewe Works, and represents Mr. Bowen Cooke’s last word in this massive type of engine. It may be interesting to note that the engine itself weighs 117 tons, and is capable of undertaking a journey from London to Scotland without stoppage.
