SUCCESSFUL MEETING AT HAWERA. The Waimate Plains Trotting Club held their annual meeting at Hawera on Easter Monday, the gathering proving an unqualified success from every point of view. The trotting was of a most interesting nature, while the totalisator handled £10,850, as against £7972 for the 1916 fixture, an increase of £2878.
