Returned visitors from the annual meeting of the Methven Racing Club (Canterbury) speak of the gathering as being very enjoyable, the stewards ami secretary (Mr. W. Stone) cooperating with a view to making the gathering the most successful in the h-story of this popular country racing institution. During the afternoon Golden Prince (Menschikoff —Scotch Device), who cost his late owner £2O, was sold for £5OO to a Southern sportsman. The four-year-old chestnut is a good sort, and should go on winning races.
