Private Leo James Brennan, killed in action in France on September 26, was the youngest son of Mrs. J. E. Brennan, artist, Auckland. He was born in Cambridge, and educated at the Cambridge District High School, afterwards joining the Railway Department and being several years in Auckland, Rotorua, and elsewhere. He enlisted at Whangarei, and left New Zealand with the Seventh Reinforcements. His brother, Frank, is also on active service in France.
