“THE BIRTH OF A NATION.”
That cinematographic masterpiece “The Birth of a Nation” will be shown at His Majesty’s Theatre till the end of the week. No picture has created wider interest than D. W. Griffith’s presentation of an epoch in American history. The tragedy of civil war, the realistic battie scenes, the running amok of the emancipated negroes of the South, the formation of the Ku Klux Klan, and the union of the North and South, are portrayed with wonderful vividness, and all the phases oi that troublous period are covered with fidelity. Every character in the production is filled by that particular type of artist best suited to the part. The production is enhanced by the incidental music provided by a speci-ally-selected orchestra under the conductorship of Mr. Horace Keats.
