LUCULLUS’ pedigree is fairly studded with celebrated names. His sire, Ard Patrick, won the Derby, and he is a grandson of the famous St. Simon, whose progeny won over £500,000 in stakes. His dam, Lucca, won the German Oaks of 5000sovs, and her sire, Cazabat, is a son of Rueil (winner of the Grand Prix de Paris). Sir Bevys, the sire of Lucerna, won the Derby, as also did Favonias, Sir Bevys’ sire, and Kisber and Voltigeur, who also follow in the pedigree, have their names enrolled amongst winners of the great Epsom race.
