ENTRIES for Now Yearlings for the Welcome Stakes, 1916, Great Northern Foal Stakes, 1916-17, 22nd Royal Stakes, 1916-17, Great Northern Champagne Stakes, 1917, Great Northern Oaks, 1917, Great Northern Guineas, 1917, 44th Great Northern Derby, 1917-18, Great Northern St. Leger, 1918, and for Yearlings and Two-year-olds for the 23rd Royal Stakes, 1917-18, will close by 9 p.m. on FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 1916. No money is required at time of nomination. Entries for the foregoing events can be made with the Secretary ot the A.R.C. at his office, Shortland Street, or with the Secretary of the C.J.C., Christchurch; D.J.C., Dunedin; W.R.C., Wellington; H.8.J.C., Hastings; V.R.C., Melbourne; A.J.C., Sydney, up to the time specified. In the event of any horse entered with the Auckland Racing Club in either of the abovementioned races dying before the first forfeit becomes due, the owner shall not be liable for payment of forfeit, provided that he gives notice and supplies proof of death before the first forfeit becomes due. SPRING MEETING, 1916. THE WELCOME STAKES, 1916, of 850 sovs; first horse to receive 575sovs, second horse 150sovs, and third horse 75sovs out of the stake. The other 50sovs to go to the breeder of the winner, provided that the horse is bred in Nev; Zealand. In the event of this condition not being fulfilled, the 50sovs to go to the first horse. For now yearlings. Colts, 8.5; geldings, 8.2; fillies, 8.0. By subscription of 9sovs each, unless forfeit of Isov is declared and paid by 9 p.m. on General Entry Day, Spring Meeting, 1916. All horses remaining in after that date must pay the subscription of 9sovs on a day to be named shortly before the race. All forfeits go to make up or increase the stake. Five furlongs.

SUMMER MEETING, 1916-17. GREAT NORTHERN FOAL STAKES, 1916-17, of lOOOsovs; first horse to receive 600sovs, second horse 200 sovs, and third lOOsovs out of the stake. The other lOOsovs to go to the breeder of the winner, provided that the horse is bred in New Zealand. In the event of this condition not being fulfilled, the 100 sovs to go to the first horse. For now yearlings. Colts, 8.10; geldings, 8.7; fillies, 8.5. By subscription of lOsovs each, unless forfeit of Isov is declared and paid by 9 p.m. on General Entry Day, Summer Meeting, 1916-17. All horses remaining in after that date must pay the subscription of lOsovs on a day to be named shortly before the race. All forfeits go to make up or increase the stake. Six furlongs.
