SOLDIER FOOTBALL MATCH—SOUTH AFRICA (HEAVY ARTILLERY) DEFEATS NEW ZEALAND (BASE DEPOT) BY 7 POINTS TO NIL AT QUEEN’S CLUB, LONDON. The match, the proceeds of which went to the Wounded and Disabled Soldiers’ Fund, created great interest in view of the fact that it marked the first occasion that South Africa and New Zealand have ever met on the football field. The illustration shows the South Africans initiating a passing run from the scrum.
