ROUND THE PICTURE SHOWS. THE LYRIC.
“The Prisoner of Zenda” is proving a strong magnet of attraction at the Lyric Theatre, Symonds Street, this week, where it is being witnessed nightly by large audiences. This thrilling dramatic film is screened in six parts, and every attention has been given to detail, the author, Anthony Hope, having personally supervised the staging of this romantic photoplay. The film depicts the many emotional scenes portrayed in this popular novel in most realistic fashion, the beautiful surroundings in which this romance takes place being an undoubted attraction from a scenic point of view alone. Next week the Lyric management will present in picture form another of Anthony Hope’s stirring novels, entitled “Rupert of Hentzau,” the sequel to “The Prisoner of Zenda.” This fine film, which is also produced by the London Film Company, is in five parts, and is certain to induce wide patronage from picture lovers who wish to see a production of great artistic merit.
