SATURDAY. Blues tone opened the morning work with a tan seven furlongs. The going seemed very heavy. Gold Lac assisted Hima at the fin ish of a five furlongs sprinting match. Monathol and Lady Gwendoline had Glucian beaten off in a run from the six furlongs post in lmin 20 l-ssec. Advancer beat a mate over the last eight of nine furlongs in lmin 54 3-5 King had a little the best of Prince Soult from the same disc in lmin 34 l-ssec. Guiding Way was going much easier than Inspector over the same course, taking 2-ssec less to accomplish the beat a companion from the six furlong mark in lmin 19sec—a serviceable gallop. Loloma and Colonel Soult strode over the seven furlongs with a fair amount in hand in lmin 34 l-ssec. . Try Fluke was content with circling the sand twice at a medium pace. Nimblefoot and Ballygowan ran a smart four furlongs afterwards while Giraffe jumped the sod wall double and stone wall alone. The fencing all round was fair. , . Chaminade jumped a few of the pony hurdles, and then joined Kaipara in a round over the big schooling battens, giving a good display tor a novice. Genevieve was tried over the little sticks, and after refusing a couple ot times jumped fairly well. Some interesting schooling took Pjftce over the steeplechase course, the first lot to start being Transfer, Mollyhawk. Giraffe and Ambassador. Stai ting at the sod wall they went round without mishap till the first fence of the double found the latter out, and he parted company with his rider. Valentine, Fireaway, Santiago, Armagh and Luperin started at the of the hill, and ran over the hill, but the first fence found Luperin grassed, while Fireaway lost his rider at the stone wall leading into the couise. Neither of the riders were hurt. Black Northern will be an absentee from the meeting. The son of Salyadan has done very well so far, being a stake earner to the ewtent of 1800 this season. A good sort of a twe-year-old in the same stable is Marabout, by Elysian from Lady Gwe i, therefore a half sister to the usef il Lady Penury. The juvenile takes a good deal after her half sister in mal e and shape, only is different in coloui, being a very light brown.
