A SMART ENGLISH BANTAMWEIGHT.

JACK LADBURY’S RECORD. Jack Ladbury, the clever English bantamweight, who last month defeated C. Siewart at Timaru in three rounds, in a match for the bantamweight champicnsh.p of the Dominion, has expressed his readiness to meet any bantam! or featherweight boxer in New Zealand. The Englishman made a big impression with those ring enthusiasts who saw him beat Stewart at Timaru, and the skill and cleverness displayed by him on that occasion remains unparalleled in the history of boxing in that town. This statement may be regarded by some as rather a big order, but competent judges who attended the contes: in question have nothing but praise for the splendidly bu It little Englishman’s excellent footwork, speed and ringcraft. Ladbury has a ring record of which he may well feel proud, and with the revival of boxing in the Dominion his services should be in much request with the various associations who contemplate holding tournaments throughout the winter season.
