THE KALGOORLIE R.C. AND THE WAR.

The Kalgoorlie Racing Club lost £2993 on last year’s operations, but this was principally due to the profit from the annual meeting in September being donated to the State Patriotic Fund and a fund to be used for the relief of local distress consequent on the war should such arise later on. To the former £5OO was contributed, and, as disclosed in the balance-sheet, a gund of £1262 14s. 6d. has been created for the latter. In addition, a contribution of £lOO was made towards the provision of a motor ambulance to accompany the troops. This year the club paid £706 12s. 9d. for water, making the expenditure in that direction £10,159 19s. lOd. since January, 1903.
