NEW ZEALAND GUN CLUB’S ASSOCIATION.
CLAY PIGEON CHAMPIONSHIP.
The New Zealand Gun Club’s Association will hold their Clay Pigeon Championship on the Golf Grounds, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, April 20. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the Palmerston North Gun Club, and as the gathering takes place on the day preceding the opening of the Manawatu R.C.’s autumn carnival there is certain to be a record crowd present to witness the shoot for the clay-bird championship of the Dominion.
The match will be decided with 21 birds from unknown angles, competitors fir.ng from the 18yds. mark. The stake will be made up of a sweepstake of £2 per shooter, in addition to which two valuable prizes will be presented to the successful contestants. The winner will receive 60 per cent, ot the sweepstake and a d.amond medal, value 15 guineas, presented by the Palmerston North Gun Club, also a handsome Webley-Scot hammerless ejector gun presented by the Colonial Ammunition Co. The second and th.rd prize winners will receive 25 and 15 per cent, respectively of the sweepstake. The championship is open only to members of clubs affiliated to the New Zealand Gun Club’s Association. Nominations for the clay bird championship close with the secre.ary of the Palmerston North Gun Club, P.N., on Friday, April 16.
