FORTHCOMING MEETING
Owners and trainers of trotting horses throughout the Dominion should note that the Wanganui Trotting Club’s two days’ meeting is to be held on the Wanganui Racecourse on Friday (February 26) and Monday (March 1). Seven events are to come up for decision on each day, and the excellence of the programme should result in a generous response from those engaged in the sport of light harness racing. The Wanganui Cup of 150sovs is to be run on the
opening day over a two miles course, while the principal event on the second day is the Dominion Handicap of 130sovs. (two miles). Both saddle and harness horses have been liberally catered for by the Club, there being races varying from one mile and a distance to two miles, including three optional events. The go ahead policy adopted by the club, under the able management of the secretary, Mr. S. W. Moffett, is certain to induce wide patronage from both herse owners and the pubic, and the meeting promises to become cue of the most popular fixtures held in the North Island. Nominations, accompanied by fees, for the various e rents close with the secretary, P.O. Ecx 63, cn Friday, February 5, at 9 p.m., while handicaps wi 1 appear ike following Friday.
