Tete-a-tete was a conspicuous failure right through the A.R.C. meeting, never getting among the place getters. She never seemed to last a solid run race through. Our leading horsemen —Deeley, Conquest, Emmerson, L. Wilson/ Buchanan, C. Brown, F. E. Jones, Robinson, Berry, and others —were never seen to better advantage than at the A.R.C. summer meeting. A heavily-worked official during last week was Mr. C. O’Connor, who started 56 races on seven consecutive dais (excepting Sunday), and got a 10l of credit from the public for the way in which he marshalled and handled his fields of gallopers, trotters and pacers. The Wanganui Trotting Club’s annual meeting has been fixed for February 26th and March Ist, to fit in with the Wanganui Jockey Club’s autumn meeting. The stakes amount to £lOOO, and the meeting should attract nominations and plenty of visitinghorses. - " The report of the bloodstock sale at Alexandra Park, Auckland, o n Monday last (January 4) will be found on page 39.
