OPERA HOUSE.
A very strong vaudeville programme is being presented to large audiences by the Brennan-Fuller proprietary at the Opera House this week. A feature of the entertainment is the work of the Crimson Ramblers, a company of talented artistes, who make their first appearance, and who, like the Serenaders and Punchinellos, occupy the first half of the programme. The Ramblers appear in original costume and give as varied and delightful an entertainment as could be desired. In quartettes, duets, burlesques, or individual items, the members of the company are distinctly good, each and every contribution being fresh and having a touch of originality. If the remainder of the Rambler’s programmes
are on a par with that being given this week, the company will always be assured of a good reception. Another very clever exhibition of trick cycling is given by Henry and May, the 'first-named being responsible for much good comedy work. Airlie and Campbell, musicians, give a very pleasing entertainment, rendering popular airs on various instruments. Slavin and Thompson continue in popular favour, their patter and parodies earning much applause. Hail Raine is a clever comedian, and eccentric dancer, and his items are well received. A great favourite in Ernest Pitcher has a fresh budget of comicalities which create genuine laughter. The entertainment, which will undergo the usual change on Monday evening, is a good one sparkling with bright and clever items.
