The North Is’and country representatives met and defeated Wanganui at Wanganui by 13 points to nil. Tries were scored by Desmond, Bailey and Downing, while two of the tries were converted bv McKenzie. The Maori team had a narrow victory over the combined Manawatu and Horowhenua fifteen at Palmerston North by 14 points to 11. For the Maoris, tries were obtained by Kaipara and Erekana, one of which was converted by Rogers, who also kicked a goal from a mark and a penalty goal. For the losers, Codyre and Ropa scored tries, one of which was converted by Rawiri, who also kicked a penalty goal. The Otago reps, defeated a combined South Island Minor Unions team by 14 points to 13. For Otago, tries were notched by McDonald, O’Sul’ivan, Brown and Casey, one of which was converted by Norrie. For South Island, Brown, Manning and O'Brien scored tries, two of which were converted by the last-named player.
