THE RACING COMMISSION.
The first sitting of the Commission recently appointed by the Governor-in-Council for the purpose of reducing the number of days racing in the Dominion, and also to suggest to which clubs totalisator permits should be issued, will be held on March 3, ac Wanganui. In order to help it the Commission has had forms forwarded to the secretaries of racing and trotting clubs with the idea of having everything ready for action. The form, which is to be filled in and sent in to che Chairman of the Commission, not later than Saturday next, February 25, is as under: — Name of Club.. Name of secretary, with postal address Number of members Amount of members’ subscripitions.. Number of members who paid their subscriptions for the season 190 91910 The Racecourse is situated at Circumference of Racecourse from winning post Is the Racecourse wholly or partly fenced on the inside; if not state the distance fenced? Is the Racecourse the property of the Club? If not, what is the tenure, giving length of lease, and conditions as to right of re-entry? What commitments, liabilities, or financial obligations is your Club
subject to? If there be any liability of any sort,
state what rate of interest is pay-
able, and to whom Describe the nature of public facilities, i.e., stands, weighing-rooms, refreshment booths, etc., and con-
veniences State the names of Totalisator Clubs within a radius of 25 miles, and the distance from each
The winning jockeys at the Taranaki Jockey Club’s Autumn meeting were:—B. Deeley, three wins; R. Barlow, E. Lowe, F. Coleman, H. Gray, two each; M.-M’Donald, R. W. Brown, H. Copestake, J. Conquest, C. Jenkins, one each. Gray also rode four seconds.
