LICENSES IN. WELLINGTON.
TRANSFERS GRANTEDAt the quarter meeting of the Licensing Committee for the Wellington district, there were on the bench: Mr. W. R. Haselden, S.M. (chairman), Messrs. J. Smith, G. J. Petherick, W. J. Helyer, G- Tiller, and W. G. Wilton. The following transfers of licenses were granted:— Cambridge Hotel: Henry Goodwin to Margaret O’Neill. Mr. F. E- Ward appeared in support of the. application. Shamrock Hotel: A. M. S. Nannested to M. Cooper. Prince of Wales Hotel: A. Quinn to M. J. O’Brien. Mr. E. J. Fitzgibbon appeared in support of the application. City Buffet Hotel: A. R. V. Lodder to F. J. Oakes. Mr. G. H. Fell appeared in support of the transfer. White Swan Hotel. H. G. Houldsworth to D. J. Kenny. Mr. Peacock
appeared in support of the application.
In regard to the proposed transfer of the license of the Princess Theatre Hotel from F. O. Weine to R. A. V. Allen, Mr. E. J. Fitzgibbon, appearing for the license, said that an Objection had been raised by the police in regard to repairs. Some difficulty had arisen between the vendor and the purchaser as to who should pay for the repairs l . However, the money for the work had bebn deposited, and the repairs would be carried out forthwith. The committee decided that the application Should be adjourned until October sth, the date of the next meeting of the Licensing Committee.
