TURF RESULTS.

MABYBOBOUGH RACING CLUB’S AUTUMN MEETING. • .lx’ 1 -.; ’ LADY MEDALLIST WINS THE CUP. The autumn meeting of the Marlborough Racing Club was commenced on Wednesday on the Riverlands racecourse. The weather was dull, with rain in the hills, but it held off throughout the afternoon. There was a considerable attendance, most of the spectators being visitors from Wellington and elsewhere. Much praise must be 1 given to Mr. Griffiths, the secretary, and his committee for their hospitality to visitors and the general good management. Speculation was fairly brisk, the sum of £4586 being handed in at the totalisator windows—an increase of £313 on last year’s returns —while thriteen bookmakers were calling the odds. These must have had a bad day, and after Mon Ami’s victory one man was unable to settle, being promptly hauled before the stewards. The racing proved somewhat unattractive, no exciting finishes being seen. Results were:— HACK HURDLES of 60sovs. One mile and a-half 3 — R. Keeper’s Glen, by Glenogle—Gazelle, 9.9 (Pritchard) 1 4— A.
