Trotting races, will be run strictly under N.Z. Trotting Association Rules. All horses must be registered at time of nomination, and all trainers and riders must hold current season’s licenses. Riders must be dressed in jockey costume. Registration forms may be had from the Secretary. Entries by telegram must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. Owners, trainers, and others are notified that entries or acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary amount in eash. Owners are responsible for penalties. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of Scales one half-hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be Imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs., to the race fund. Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade in front of the stand. Any horse absent from such parade, without the permission of the Stewards, will be fined 2 sovs. Any owner running a horse in colours •tlier than those named at the time of entry will be fined 1 sov.
