THE OPERA HOUSE.

FULLER’S WIDE-WORLD PICTURES. Large audiences continue to patronise the Opera House every evening to witness the picture entertainment as provided by Fullers’ Pictures. This week’s) programme, which was presented on Saturday evening for the first time, is a ; highly meritorious one, and is evidence, if that- were wanting, that Mr. Fuller is desirous of giving to Auckland the very best procurable in the. way of pictures. The programme now showing will appeal strongly to the sporting fraternity, the attractions being the Punchestown Steeplechase, decided recently in Ireland, and the Ox-ford-Cambridge Boat Race.. The Steeplechase is clearly shown through-

out. and the crowd of spectators on the course are eagerly watching the race. Several mishaps occur, the formidable obstacles which have to be negotiated probably accounting for them. The. Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race is an exceedingly clear film, and one could almost imagine himself there on the spot. The progress of the race is shown from beginning to end, Oxford winning easily by several lengths. An exceptionally pretty film is that showing a water carnival in Mexico, while “ Chinese Pastimes ” is very interesting, showing several Chinese contortionists, jugglers, etc. “ The Honour of the Slums ” is of the pathetic order, and shows where a man who has fallen a victim to drink will, despite the pleadings of his wife, continue to frequent the public-house. The unhappy wife joins the Salvation Army, and while selling her papers meets her husband in the saloon, and he is 'finally induced to become a member of the Army. A dramatic picture, which appeals strongly to the audience, is “ A Gamekeeper’s Son,” while an instructive film is the one showing the manufacture of maple sugar. Two other splendid pictures are “ Logging in Winter in Canada ” and “ Life in the British Navy. Besides those mentioned, the following are included in the programme: “A Cheap Entertainment,” “ Poor Little Kiddies,” “ A Trip to the Scilly Isles,” “ The Cohen Family at Coney Island. The Adventures of a Drummer Boy,” “ Foolshed Wrestling,” “ Domestic Rivals.” and “ Charley’s Ma-in-Law.” During the entertainment the Cinephone renders the items, “ Kate, Won’t You Roller Skate?” and “Excelsior.” The same programme will be shown till Saturday evening, when another complete change will be made.
