At the Cape Foulwind ground, Westport, the Buller representatives defeated the Ellesmere (Canterbury) team by 13 points to 6. At Nelson the local representative team suffered defeat at the hands of the Marlborough fifteen by 15 points to nil.
At Palmerston North the final match for the Hawkins Shield between the Feilding Football Club and Kaitoa resulted in a win for the former team.
The Wellington senior football results were as 'ollows: —Athletic beat Poneke by 3 points to nil; Petone beat Old Boys by 16 points to 6; Melrose beat Southern by 13 points to 6; St. James’ beat Wellington by 11 points
to 8; Oriental beat Victoria College by 18 points to 9. The senior football results at Christchurch were —Christchurch beat Sydenham by 20 points to nil; Albion beat Old Boys by 14 points to 3; Merivale beat Canterbury College by 5 points to 3; Linwood a bye. The Dunedin football results were: —Alhambra beat Southern by 14 points to 3; Union beat University by 15 points to 3: Dunedin beat Taieri Rovers by 10 points to nil; ZingariRichmond beat Kaikorai by 10 points to nil; Port Chalmers beat Pirates by 6 points to nil. The flag matches conclude on Saturday next.
