THE GAME IN THE SOUTH.
The Wellington football matches were postponed on account of heavy rain. At Christchurch the senior football matches resulted as follows: —Christchurch and Old Boys drew, 8 points each; Merivale beat Linwood by 5 points to 4; and Albion beat Canterbury College by 10 points to 3. The Dunedin football results were. —Alhambra beat Dunedin by 8 points to nil; Pirates beat University by 20 points to 6; Union and Kaikorai drew, no score; Taieri beat Port Chalmers by 11 points to 8; Southern and Zingari Richmond drew, 3 points each.
