AUCKLAND AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION’S CARNIVAL.

The third annual carnival of the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association took place in the Auckland Graving Dock on Saturday before a large attendance. The following were the officials: —Judges, Messrs. H. Frost, C. Weaver, and D. Callinan; timekeepers, Messrs. Ford, Diddams, Meredith, and Denison; starter, Mr. G. Katterns; check starter, Mr. C. O. Hughes; handicappers, Messrs. Stewart and Ward Campbell; hon. secretary, Mr. L. C. Gibbins. The following were the results: — Novice Handicap, 50yds. — First heat: J. A. Tobin, 35., 1; J. Gibbons, scratch, 2. Time, 31s. Second heat: J. E. Inkster, 35., 1; J. Stone, 25., 2. Time, 31s. Third heat: T. McGlashan, 35., 1; O. J. Somerville, 45., 2. Time, 345. Final: McGlashan, 1: Inkster, 2. Time, 31 4-ss. Won by a yard.

Schoolboys’ Handicap, 25yds. — H. Goffin, 45., 1; C. J. Bloomfield, scr., 2. Time, 19s. Won by inches.

Auckland Handicap, 100yds.—First heat: W. T. Matthews, 11s., 1; S. J. Easdown, 95., 2. Time, 70s. Second heat: L. Kerr-Taylor, 11s., 1; P. C. Weston, 95., 2. Time, 745. Third heat: Francis, 1; V.
