MR. EDWARD REEVES
Mr. Edward Reeves, the talented Adelaide elocutionist, commenced a series oi three recitals at the Y.M.C.A. Had. Dickens’ story, ”t he Cricket on the Hearth,” was given, and was listened to with close attention by a large audience. Every point of the story was well brought out. and he clearly proved his title to be considered one of the best elocutionists who has visited Auck x and. Hast evening Mr. Reeves was to have given Ralph Connor’s ’ Sky Pilot,” while the concluding recital will be on Friday, when he will give ” Mark Antony’s Oration,” Tennyson’s Enoch Arden,” Dupret’s “ Modern Sermon,” Hepburn’s “ Wild Hyenas,” and a misceLaneous programme. ■ Those who have not heard Mr. Reeves should certainly make a po.nt ot doing so.
