THE WAIHI CLUB’S OPENING.

The grounds of the Waihi Club were jn fete on Saturday, the occasion being the opening of the season. The weather was fine, and there was a very large attendance. President A. H. Benge, of the Auckland Club, welcomed the visitors, and declared the green open amidst cheers. Afternoon tea was dispensed by a committee of ladies, and the Waihi Federal Band helped to enliven proceedings. The customary match between President and Vice-Presidents was played, the formed winning by 98 to 79.
