WELLINGTON RACING CLUB’S SPRING MEETING.

FIRST DAY. A' good deal of rain fell on the open ing day of the Wellington Racing Club’s Spring Meeting. The attendance was large and the racing interesting. Twenty-n ne bookmakers were licensed. The totalisator investments for the day amounted to £10,689, as compared with £14,715 for the corresponding day of the previous year.
