THE GISBORNE RACING CLUB’S WINTER MEETING.

Particulars of the programme for the Gisborne Racing Club’s steeplechase meeting will be found in this issue. The meeting will eventuate on July 9 and 10, the programme including the Handicap Hurdles of 70sovs, one mile and three-quarters; the Flying Handicap of 60sovs, six furlongs; the Park Steeplechase of 115sovs, three miles; the Trial Steeplechase of 60sovs, two miles; Winter Oats of 60 60sovs, one mile and a distance; Second Hurdles of 70sovs, two miles; Waikanae Handicap of 60sovs, seven furlongs; Te Hapara Steeplechase of lOOsovs, two and a-half miles; Final Steeplechase of 60sovs, two miles; Farewell Handicap of 60sovs, one mile. Nominations for these events close with the secretary, Mr. M. G. Nasmith, on Wednesday, June 3. Handicaps for the first day’s events are due on June 20, and acceptances on July 1, on which latter date entries for both days’ hack events are also due. As all the local racing will be over by that time the Gisborne fixture should attract a number of horses down from Auckland, It Invariably proving a very enjoyable reunion.
