FIRST DAY. The weather was unfavourable for the opening day of the meeting, but the course and surroundings were in capital order. The totalisator investments amounted tex £15,626, as against £19,985 last year. Twenty-eight bookmakers were licensed, the fees amounting to £360. The racing •was interesting, the finish of the Great Autumn Handicap being especially good, but the totalisator investments (£12,552) showed a decrease of £5184.
