Upton, 113 (8), 105. * * * * The season at Rotorua commenced last week, when Hood, the Auckland professional, went round in 41 and 40, a fine performance, considering the state of the putting greens. * * * * The annual meeting of the Hamilton Golf Club was held last week, when Mr. G. McLeod occupied the chair. The following officers were re-elected for the ensuing year: —President, Dr. Douglas; vice-presidents, Messrs. John Gordon, W. H. Herries, M.P., N. C. Matthew, and H. T. Gillies; committee, Messrs. J. A. Sellar, W. L. Ward, G. McLeod, and C. F. Bond; Ground Committee, Messrs. J. A. Sellar and C. F. Bond; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. J. Smith. The club at North Shore intend pushing ahead this season, and a number of new members have joined. * * ♦ ♦ The latest club is the Devonport Hockey Club. The following officers have been elected: —President, Dr. Guinness; secretary, Mr. W. Skipworth; treasurer, Captain Pilkington. The club will hold another meeting in the Council Chambers to-night at eight o’clock, when intending members are requested to be present. The more the merrier ! > * * The Auckland Hockey Association meeting will be he_d to-morrow evening. .It .s rumoured that teams from Wellington, Manawatu, Canterbury, and Nelson are likely to come North this season.
