GOING FOR A RECORD

Record-making, what with cricket, motor cars and other adjuncts to present day civilisation, is popular just now, and so the Melbourne public are exhibiting a kindly interest in the course of '* HumptyDumpty ” at Her Majesty’s Theatre there. Over three-quarters of the journey towards the much deserved “ hundredth” performance have already been negotiated and the pantomime is still running so strongly and so well within itself that there seems every probability of its accomplishing its self-imposed task. Tonight (Thursday, March 5) it will be played for the 85th time in Melbourne. Since it was first produced on December 21st, 1907, a continuous succession of crowded houses has been the rule with the result that over 150,000 people have already seen the pantomime.
