PONSONBY GIVE GREY LYNN A BAD TIME.
Ponsonby played an inter-club match against Grey Lynn, but the latter seemed all at sea on the Ponsonby ground, and did badly. Indeed, the scoring for the teams (including the Star team) was almost a record. Hemus simply piled on the points against Wilkinson, and Veale easily beat Mills. Ponsonby four also played Grey Lynn for the Edwin Stars, and had a picnic. If the figures given are correct, the score for the three games was 104 to 34. On their own ground Grey Lynn did much better, winning both games against Ponsonby, and finishing 19 up—a very good performance indeed. The inter-club figures w r ere: Ponsonby, 93; Gre?/ Lynn, 74.
