BOWLING.
The championship banner was presented to the Carlton Club on Saturday, quite a number of bowlers going to the Newmarket green to witness the presentation. Carlton has now the honour of holding the North Island B.A. Championship and the Auckland B.A. Championship, which, curiously enough, has once happened before.
Bassett and .Wright played a very close game with Sutherland and Clarke in the Onehunga Championship Pairs (semi-final), the former just getting home by 21 to 20. Friar and James beat George and Davies in the same round by 22 to 17.
Games were in progress on the Auckland, Ponsonby, Mt. Eden, Carlton. Devonport, Rocky Nook, Richmond, Grey Lynn, Onehunga, Otahuhu, Mount Albert, Waitemata, Remuera and Epsom greens on Saturday. Anyone wanting to become a player in Auckland has plenty of opportunity.
Matches have been in full swing at Grey Lynn. Here are the more important:—

After the excitement of the tournament, matters seemed quiet on Saturday, although there were no lack of players, it being a perfect day for bowling.
On the Auckland green Dean’s team heat Gilmour’s in the club fours by 21 to 16. The losers played badly throughout.
A close go was a singles match between Crowhurst and Styak (receives 4). At the 21st head it was a tie, and three more heads were played, Crowhurst winning by 23 to 19.
At Devonport several matches have been got oft. These were as follows: —

Garland has defeated Tutt in the Mount Eden championship by 21, 22, to 15, 9.
