AQUATICS.

PONSONBY REGATTA. Fine weather favoured the Ponfionby Regatta the sun shining brightly, while there was a nice sailing breeze and not too much sea on for the rowing events. The Northern Company’s steamers Clansman and Waimarie acted as the flagships, and both were very liberally patronised by spectators. The officials were as follows: —Sailing events: Mr. W. Carter, starter; Mr. D. Patterson, judge; Mr. F. R. Speight, timekeeper. Rowing events: Mr. N. Wade, starter and umpire; Mr. B. S. Finn, judge. Side shows: Mr. J. Conway, starter; Mr. E. Bain, judge. (Motor launch races: Mr. P. Howden, timekeeper; Captain St. Clair Whyte starter and judge. The handicappers were: Messrs. W. Carter, Wm. W. Sinton, A, Clare, sailing events; Messrs. M. W.
