MANAGERS I HAVE MET.
MR. RICHARD STEWART. The subject of my initial article under he above heading has, I may with safety .•ay, a world-wide reputation as one of ihe premier and mos; prominent managers in Austraasia. Dick Stewart, as ne is familiarly and populary cal ed, has been connected with Wil'iamson’s management for very many years and has earned for himself the. character of a genial, straightforward, and honourable manager and gentleman. He is symparhet c and obliging, and also mos hardworking. It is a rare th’ng to find Dick free from the trammels of duty. By his polite and obliging manner, his camaraderie, and his sterling qualities, he has made himself a favour te most deserved y popular with press and public. alike. This is he kind of manager we like, and that we want to see controlling the theatrical businesses that pass through New Zealand, “Vivat Dick Stewart et hoc genu-, omne” is my ardent wish; and n expressing my gra ification in being included among his press acquaintances, I fee', certain that I am expressing the universal wish “Long may he flourish!” The portrait of the ! ttle lady in this issue that we publ’.'h along with hat of Dick Stewart is that of his daugh er, little Myone Stewart, whose extraordinary like;’ess to her beautiful aunt, Miss Nellie Stewart, is only too apparent o require pointmg out.
