CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

FIRST DAY. The weather was far from good for the first day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting. The attendance was large, and speculation was brisk, the investments amounting to £18,221, in addition to £1764 on the double-event machine. SECOND DAY. The Canterbury Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting was concluded on Tuesday in fine weather, and the going was very good. The attendance was again large, and speculation brisk. The totalisator investments for the day amounted to £17.736. an increase of £7897 over last year’s second day, while the total for the two days (£37.721) is £12.094 in excess of last year’s amount. The winning double, Fireiron and Seal Rock, paid £4B 2s. The results of the day’s racing were as follows: — PEERSWICK HURDLE HANDICAP of 150sovs. One mile and three-quarters. Mr. J.
