WHANGAREI RACING CLUB’S SUMMER MEETING.

SECOND DAY. After being postponed for three days owing to unfavourable weather, the second day’s racing of the Whangarei Racing Club’s meeting took place on Wednesday in fine weather. A sum of £1364 was put through the totalisator. Results: — TRADESMEN’S PLATE. — Peregrine 1, Uhlander 2, Geologist 3. Won very easily by a length. Also started: Geordie, Quebec. Dividend, £1 13s. HURDLE RACE. —Lady Lanta 1, Morpeth 2, Bowman 3. Scratched: Geologist. Won by two lengths. Dividend, £5 3s. SUMMER HANDICAP. —Methuma 1, ijunetta 2, Omati 3. Dividends, £7 8s and 10s. A protest against the winner on the question of ownership was dismissed. PARK HANDICAP.—Sir Gilead 1, Peregrine 2, Uhlander 3. Won very easily. Nervine and Annoyed fell. Dividends, £7 13s and 10s. MARSDEN STAKES. —Lochbuhie 1, Miss Lancelot 2. La Cigale 3. Won easily. Dividend, 17s. HACK HANDICAP. —Lady Ellen 1, Bushman 2, Midcyr 3. These were the only starters.
