BOWLING.
The annual meeting of the Thames Bowling Club was held on Friday night, Mr. J. T. Inglis (president) in the chair. The report of the Management Committee stated that an area of ground adjoining the green had been leased from Mr. Arthur Myers at a nominal rent, and was in course of preparation for a croquet lawn. This would probably be available for play next season. The president presented the various prizes competed for during the season as follows: —Championship gold medal, presented by Mr. Jas. Finlay, won by Mr. A. Dodd; the second prize in the championship being a liquor stand, presented by Mr. Findlayson, of Auckland, was won by the president. President’s prize, a handsome silver dessert service, was won by Mr. Turner, with Mr. F. Sykes second. Handicap singles, a pair of silver-mounted bowls, with case, was won by Mr. F. Sykes, Mr. M. Paul taking second prize, which was a handsome liquor cabinet, presented by Mr. T. C. Clark, of Auckland. Club fours, gold medals presented by Mrs. McKay, Mr. W. McCullough, Mr. R. R. Menzies, and Mr. T. Ryan, and were won by Messrs. Lucas, Gribble, Smith, and Paul (skip). The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr. J. T. Inglis (reelected) ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Wood, Lowe, and Milnes (re-elected); Management Committee, Messrs. Paul, Smith, Price, Buckland, Lucas, and Burton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. H. Lucas: green superintendent, Mr. Alfred Court; delegates to association conference, Messrs. A. Court and J. T. Inglis.
