Clulow, late of the Railway Hotel, Lower Hutt, is now to be found at the Caledonian Hotel, opposite the Basin Reserve, Wellington. This hotel is the favourite rendezvous for footballers, cricketers and athletes, and is one of the finest houses in the Wellington district. Visitors to the Empire City are always welcomed by Mr. Clulow. Trams pass the door every few minutes. * * * * In Wellington last week Dr. McArthur, S.M., reserved judgment in an action by the shops inspector against Louis P. Christeson, charged with trading after legal hours. The defence is that the requisition on which the order fixing the closing hour was made did not contain the signatures of a majority of the nersons selling tobacco. Defendant submitted a list containing 250 names of places selling tobacco, including hotels, grocers anh general dealers, whereas only 100 signed the requisition.
